Soccer Trying to Make it in the Football World

In many countries, the names of the game sounds similar. The words football, fussball or futbol... don't just sound the same, they're the exact same game. In the U.S., however, they refer to it as soccer. Major League Soccer (MLS) as an American professional soccer league has been around for a while now.

In contrast to other American major league sports, MLS does not dominate the sport's public attention on the global level, nor does its champions are crowned the 'World Champion'. MLS is in continuous development. Did it receive notable media and public interest in world football? No!

Soccer as the 2nd, 7th , or 10th most watched sport within the U.S. doesn't make a huge difference. American public will still follow either the NFL, MLB, NHL or NBA. The world's population will follow these leagues with the identical attention because they are world's most prominent sports leagues.   yallashoot

In recent times, with the rise of global media, the international sports scene has started to evolve; in that way, English football, the Premier League is marketed as the most prestigious Show On Earth' and is in fact the world's most popular and most watched sporting league with a world-wide viewership over half a billion and media earnings for the seasons 2007 to 2010 worth over $5 billion. If the entire world watches football leagues like English Premiership or Spanish La Liga and Spanish La Liga, who else will watch the American major league sports outside of the American public? Is it likely that a significant portion of the American population choose to watch overseas football leagues as well? These questions led soccer to become an issue for U.S sports.

Every now and then, officials from the MLS officials would rise from the drowsiness of being hidden in the shadows of the Top 4 American major leagues around the time when World Cup takes places and it becomes clear how huge the game of football is in terms of world public interest media attention, sponsors, and sponsors.
As the buzz around the World Cup passes, the MLS would sink back into the haze of sleep. It was not to be as it was after that World Cup 2006 in Germany in which the world's public got a clear picture of European football's modern stadiums, multimillion-dollar player deals... The international spotlight was given the spotlight on football.

The problem is that it's not MLS that will initiate the process of promoting MLS rather, the entire of the American professionally-run sports entertainment. This is an economic opportunity where the money revolving around football around the world was enough to not be missed or neglected.

The summer of 2007 U.S. soccer attempted to dominate the world of football with a flurry of offers to David Beckham a $250million contract, the most expensive football player contract in the history of the sport, some described it as the deal to bring Beckham in America is thought to be the most significant in the history of sport. MLS made a public announcement to the world.

In the summer heat when European leagues were in between seasons and the waters were still, MLS got the wanted media attention, as news stories were focused on the Beckham family moving to LA. Did the stories take over the global football media and public attention for MLS already? No!

Are the $250 million worth of exposure worth it in the long term? The time will tell. As autumn approaches, European and international leagues are underway, the world sports news has smaller pieces on Beckham, LA Galaxy and the MLS. The worst part is that LA won't even make the play-offs and give the media little to write about.

In the league that has suffered a total loss of greater than $300 million in the first 8 years since its foundation (a BusinessWeek report from 2004), where at the present time just two clubs, LA Galaxy and FC Dallas are profitable, and three teams are expected to become profitable in a year, a $250 million one-player investment appears to be an extremely risky bet. If so, what are the odds?

Recently, a few famous players made the step away from the top teams of Europe and South America for a financially lucrative contract with teams from Gulf countries. Gulf countries. The news reports reported on lucrative deals for transfers, yet there was no follow-up in media coverage of these leagues.

Never to be forgotten, before David Beckham's arrival, MLS attempted to gain recognition by introducing Freddy Adu, a player less than 16 that was crowned as"the next" Pel e. Adu received considerable media attention, and everyone knew that he was playing at DC United of the MLS.

Many may or may not know that Adu in the summer of this year at the age of 18 signed an agreement with a club in Europe in the form of Benfica FC - Portugal. Before joining Benfica, Adu spent some time during summer in Man Utd's training camp. Alex Fergusson did not give him the reason to stay.

Benfica offered Benfica from Salt Lake City $2million for the player's release note and Adu will be receiving $1.2million per year, which is solid but not the contract that is the best news. Adu was not on Benfica's Champions League match roster against Milan on September. 18th. In comparison, players like Messi at the time of Adu's age was already in the eleven players who play for the football giant FC Barcelona. The MLS hasn't received a lot of attention for the sport due to Adu or contributed to his development into the superstar player he is expected to be. Through time, some great players ever played soccer in the United States, including Pel e, Beckenbauer, Eusebio...

After decades of unsuccessful attempts that failed to deliver the hoped-for results for the growth in U.S. soccer, what effect Beckham's participation (currently with a 6-week absence due to injury) can make in the near future? Let's have a brief look at MLS as a professional soccer league that was established in 1996 and has more than the span of 10 years under way.

Logistics and facilities:

The day I published this texton September 27, 2007, Beckham's LA Galaxy is playing against the KC Wizards. SPORTiana.com, as the author of this piece, had the knowledge of MLS through KC Wizards in the summer of 2006, just a time before Beckham's entry to the MLS. At the time, the head coach of KC Wizard was unhappy with having him and 2 more assistant coaches run the team's training. They had to force the team to have several players on the roster of 26 in the bench as a result of being unable to keep them all on the field during training simultaneously.   يلا شوت

The training facilities consisted of one open-air field and the in-door field , which was also used as a gym to train the NFL team KC Chiefs, within the Arrowhead Stadium complex. The Wizard's open-air training field was situated near the fence surrounding KC Chiefs training fields.

The grass on the Wizards field was split into turfs on the ground that was as solid as a stone the field was one where players would not train to avoid injury. The head coach, two assistant coaches, a Fitness trainer... NFL stadium and facilities... small office space on the corner of the football stadium... it is quite different with the teams from leagues where Beckham used to play.
